Learning outcomes

Capacity to design and analyse preclinical vaccine studies.

Course content

Practical training and discussion of the statistical techniques and data handling involved in experimental design and analysis of preclinical vaccine studies, including aspects such as ARRIVE guidelines for animal research, study design, randomisation, power calculation and data management practice.

Overview

This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the essential statistical methods used in preclinical vaccine research. Participants will gain practical knowledge in designing experiments, analyzing data, and interpreting results within the context of vaccine development. With a focus on real-world applications, the course equips researchers with the tools necessary to make informed decisions and improve the rigor and reproducibility of their studies. Through a combination of theoretical instruction and hands-on exercises, attendees will develop a solid foundation in biostatistics, tailored specifically for preclinical vaccine research.

Scholarships

We are pleased to offer free registration and travel funding to selected researchers from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). These registration and travel grants for LMIC applicants are generously sponsored by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI).
